2011 starts with attachment seminar by Sir Richard Bowlby

Christa introduces Richard Bowlby

On 25th January, we were honoured to host a one day seminar by Sir Richard Bowlby on “Becoming attached – the value of family support”.  60 people attended including Home-Start volunteers and parents, children’s centre outreach workers, school staff, health visitors, educational psychologists and refuge workers. We hope to follow this fantastic event with further workshops on attachment, child development and early intervention in 2011.

“Richard Bowlby was excellent, really inspiring and confirms my views on attachment, especially regarding crèches and the lack of sufficient settling in periods”

“Excellent presenter, skilful, eloquent, knowledgeable. Topic although familiar felt fresh and updated”

“The seminar was fantastic and very informative. The video clips helped keep focus and I feel I know a lot more about early attachment”

“Able to get a much clearer understanding of attachment principles and seeing how I can transfer this into my practice”

“Learnt an amazing amount and now want to read more about attachment theory. How we bond with our babies makes them the adults of the future”
