Birth & Beyond
Our Birth & Beyond group is for families who are expecting their first baby and who are around 28-32 weeks pregnant.
It is aimed to support families in the preparation to giving birth and what to expect during labour and delivery. The group also supports families with identifying help and support available for them and their baby in the community in the first few weeks after giving birth.
The group runs several times a year for four weeks. Some of the topics we cover are:
- Feeding, bathing and the practical care of your baby
- The different stages of labour
- Pain relief choices
- Giving birth and meeting your baby
- Your own health and well being
- Baby brain development
- People and services available to you before and after birth
