Yasmin’s Volunteer Journey
I have been part of the Home-Start family since Summer 2025. One thing that has really stayed with me was seeing the mum I volunteer with able to relax on a bench with her baby while I played with her energetic toddler at the playground. It was lovely to see her have a small bit of calm and space to breathe without constantly having to run around or worry. What’s kept me coming back each week is feeling that I’m making a difference and building genuine bonds with the families I support. If I had to describe my volunteering experience with Home-Start in three words, they would be rewarding, joyful and meaningful.
